What is micro-needling?

  • Micro-needling is the insertion of very fine, short micro needles into the skin for the purpose of rejuvenation.

What are some other names for micro-needling?

  • Other names for this procedure include skin needling, collagen induction therapy (CIT), and percutaneous collagen induction (PCI).

When will I see results after micro-needling?

  • Most clients see results after the first treatment.  Individual results vary depending on individual skin health.  It is most common to begin to see true changes or positive results as soon as 1-2 weeks after the first treatment.

How much is the cost for micro-needling?

  • Here at Oasis, due to the multitude of benefits of this procedure, we wish to offer this procedure at an affordable price that can be tried by many.  Our prices are below average nationwide.  The cost for one treatment is $150 and $420 for a package of three treatments.

Is micro-needling painful?

  • Pain is controlled by numbing cream applied 20-30 minutes prior to the procedure.  Fine, short needles are used in a device that creates micro punctures in the skin to induce controlled "injury" and stimulates rejuvenation.

Is micro-needling safe?

  • The medical community generally considers micro-needling to be safe and effective, but there are still some risks associated with the procedure.  Most commonly seen is skin irritation after the procedure. 

  • Other rare side effects could include swelling and infection.

How often can I get micro-needling?

  • Micro-needling can be safely repeated every 4-6 weeks as needed.  Collagen induction requires at least 3 treatments, while scar reduction requires between 3 and 6 treatments.  We recommend waiting 4-6 weeks between treatments.  The number of treatments needed will depend on each individual case.

What do I put on my skin after micro-needling procedure?

  • We recommend avoiding makeup for 24 hours post-procedure.

  • If your skin is sensitive after the treatment you can apply hydrocortisone cream or aloe vera.

  • Advil can be taken for any discomfort.

  • Use a gentle cleanser, moisturizer, and sun block for 48 hours after your treatment.

  • Medical grade broad spectrum SPF 30 or higher is recommended.

Can I wash my face after micro-needling procedure?

  • Use a very gentle cleanser and tepid water to rinse the face for 72 hours post-procedure.  Gently pat dry the treated area.  It is recommended that you do NOT use hard cleansing products for at least 7 days after micro-needling.
